Look at your image and try to forget what it is an image of and just LOOK for the SHAPES in it.
Try to outline the biggest "BACKGROUND" shapes first. This may help you find ways to OVERLAP more easily.
Overlapping is a a big TIME SAVER and making your shapes fit edge to edge is a big TIME WASTER
